History

Owner J.P. McLane, like his dad and granddad, was born and raised in the cattle business. Once he started buying trucks to haul feeder cattle, his fleet of ten cattle trucks grew over the years to 24.

In July 1974, McLane Livestock Transport, Inc. opened their doors in the city of Poplar Bluff, MO. That same year, due to the decline in the cattle business, J.P. began buying refrigerated trailers and hauling produce from the west coast. Now, nearly forty years later, they transport furniture, heating and air conditioning units, dairy products and expansion joints for bridges and roadways to the west coast. For the return trips, they then haul a variety of produce, primarily from California, Washington and Oregon.McLane employs 65, has 46 trucks, 100 trailers and four owner-operator trucks.

As the business has grown, so has the family, and McLane likes to think of all of their employees as family. With stringent safety guidelines and attention to taking care of their own, McLane continues to build on a reputation of quality trucking.

Equipment

Your reputation is only as good as the trucks you move it in, and if you're constantly pulling rigs off of the road for repair, your customers are not getting their needs met.

That's why, at McLane Transport, we only use late model Kenworth trucks to pull your products. In fact, there isn't a McLane truck on the road older than three years.

Our trailers are late model Great Dane Thermoking trailers.

We inspect and re-inspect our equipment to make sure it meets our stringent safety criteria. At McLane Transport, we're in it for the long haul.

Experience

Our years of experience and the longevity of our employee relationships make for an efficient and safe way to get your goods where they need to go fast.

Safety

Without a stringent adherence to safety standards, no trucking company will survive. At McLane, we like to think of safety as our TOP priority.

In addition to using late model equipment, all of our drivers adhere to the rigid safety standards set industry-wide, and we meet or exceed required safety standards.
